block testing environments


We have blocked out a few of our environments for play testing our demo before we get to work on the art assets. Here's a quick play test (super alpha) to show movement, interaction and dialogue systems.



Environments

These areas are multi-purpose. They will allow different points of interaction, depending on which story quests are open, time of day, or random chance. In true RPG fashion these interactions may include:

  • items
  • quest objectives
  • opportunities to interact with other characters
  • mini-games that offer the chance to acquire items/currency or quest opportunities

Game-time

The game features a time and day system. Each day the player wakes up and can choose what areas and characters to interact with. Interactions progress game-time. This means that a limited number of actions/chores/quests can be completed each day. Gameplay takes place during days and nights in the game world. The only time reference is day/night and day of the week (monday-sunday), meaning time is unlimited. There is no danger of missing quests/interactions. Some characters may only appear in certain areas on certain days. It will be up to the player to explore and figure things out.
